Long Play: RSD2018 Launch for Trevor Burton Solo Debut
Record Store Day 2018 (RSD2018) will see The Move co-founder Trevor Burton unveil his debut solo album "Long Play" via Gray Sky Records, their twentieth release. The eleven track album features two original songs from Trevor in "Hit And Run" and "When It All Come Down" alongside his own unique acoustic take on modern if not undiscovered classics including Tom Petty's iconic "Wild Flowers". You'll also find the familiar, unlimited talent here of Abby Brant as well as Jack Hayter (Hefner) on an album recorded at Rain Studios (formerly Highbury Studio) on Trev's home patch in King's Heath. Whilst the official Press Release promises a record "stripped down to its bare essence", Yours Truly KJS feels that this particular 1LP is certain to showcase the unsung versatility and sheer class of Trevor Burton.
Trax: [A1] "Hit And Run" (Burton); [A2] "Be Positive" (Callaci); [A3] "Poverty Draft" (Scorch); [A4] "I'm Alright" (Cook-Parrott); [A5] "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" (Mangum); [A6] "Wild Flowers" (Petty); [B1] "Flirted With You All My Life" (Chesnutt); [B2] "When It All Comes Down" (Burton); [B3] "Just Breathe" (Vedder); [B4] "After It Ends" (Vanderslice); [B5] "Andrew Eldritch Is Moving Back To Leeds" (Darnielle)
Just 1,000 copies of "Long Play" will be released on Saturday 21st April in Blood Red 180 gram vinyl (including digital download and bonus CD EP) and limited edition cassette (also with digital download). Trevor will be playing a live in-store set at The Diskery in Birmingham on the day too. A full CD release will likely follow later this year. You can find out more about "Long Play" via the brand new Trevor Burton web site and the official RSD18 web site via these links thus:
