THE IDLE RACE: DOUBLE RSD VINYL DELIGHT

Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! After queuing for a couple of hours in the early morning of Saturday 16th April outside Vinyl & Vintage in Wolverhampton during a rather unexpected snow shower, Yours Truly KJS was fortunate enough to purchase the RSD16 release of the second self titled studio album by The Idle Race. And what a beautiful production it is [see above] in its textured sleeve and stunning splattered coloured 180g vinyl breathing new life into an album first released back in November 1969 via Liberty Records.

The folks at Parlophone Records and Record Store Day really have excelled themselves when it comes to putting The Idle Race back on the vinyl map. The RSD14 release of their debut album "The Birthday Party" was equally stunning [see below] in 180g gold vinyl and magnificent gatefold sleeve, replicating the original LP issued in October 1968.
It is too much to expect to see their post-Jeff Lynne third release "Time Is" complete the set? ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] would truly love to see another pleasant Idle Race surprise in a future Record Store Day. No harm in hoping for that, however unlikely ...

Until next "Time" in the ELO [and related] Universe ... KJS ... 19-Apr-2016
