CAUGHT LIVE [4]: SIGHT 'N' SOUND

Sight 'n' Sound [L-R]: Paul Trappett, Brian Eustace, Warren Shaw and Neil Craddock ...
Hello ... Hello ... my old friends ... It's great to see you once again! Sight 'n' Sound are a band with a rich Midlands musical pedigree boasting [as they can] former members and contributors including Mike Sheridan, Roger 'Ollie' Spencer [The Idle Race], Rick Price [The Move/Wizzard]Geoff Turton [The Rockin' Berries/Jefferson] and Kelly Groucutt [ELO/OrKestra/ELO Part II/ The Orchestra]. Therefore, the short trip to see the final Sight 'n' Sound gig of 2015 at Burns Street Club in Cannock on the evening of Saturday 5th December was a 'must' for Yours Truly KJS and, by extension, ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF].

Sight 'n' Sound - in their various line-ups - have been around for a number of decades with a proven reputation for their renowned vocal harmonies plus solid musicianship and those qualities have been more than ably retained by the reformed quartet, judging by this impressive concert. A set list filled with their take on classics by the likes of REO Speedwagon, Kansas, The Eagles, John Miles, Chicago, Journey, The Four Seasons and Queen was topped by their wonderful ELO "Out Of The Blue" medley [naturally] alongside the live debut of one of their very own songs, their catchy 1976 single "Dance With Me" [originally released by Orleans in 1975].

This was my fourth visit to see Sight 'n' Sound and, as always, it was a memorable experience. ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] looks forward to seeing Brian, Warren, Neil and Paul performing in and around the Midlands [and maybe beyond] during 2016. If they are near you, go see 'em!

Sight 'n' Sound played: "We Built This City" ~ "Can't Fight This Feeling" ~ "Hard Habit To Break" ~ "The Longest Time" ~ "Bohemian Rhapsody" ~ "New Kid In Town" ~ "Hotel California" ~ ELO Medley: "Wild West Hero"/"Sweet Talkin' Woman"/"Mr. Blue Sky" ~ "Music" ~ "Carry On My Wayward Son" ~ "How Long" ~ "MacArthur Park" ~ "Dance With Me" ~ Four Seasons Medley: "Let's Hang On"/"Working My Way Back To You"/"Who Loves You"/"Oh, What A Night [December 1963]" ~ "Separate Ways" ~ "Don't Stop Me Now" ~ Queen Medley: "Fat Bottomed Girls"/"A Kind Of Magic"/"Hammer To Fall" ~ "Desperado" ~ "We Are The Champions"

Sight 'n' Sound are: Brian Eustace [Guitars/vocals], Neil Craddock [Bass/vocals], Warren Shaw [Drums/vocals] and Paul Trappett [Keyboards/vocals]. You can check out all their latest happenings via the Sight 'n' Sound Facebook page

ELO Beatles Forever [ELOBF] continues to endorse and recommend Sight 'n' Sound to those enlightened folks who enjoy the music of ELO & Jeff LynneRoy WoodThe MoveThe Idle Race'Brum Beat'The Beatles and related artistes.

  2. Used to play on the same circuit when I was in a soul band in the late 60's the line up then if I remember it right was Pete Smith (lead vocals), Joe Dingham (drums), Neville Chambelin (lead guitar), Bob Doyle (bass) and John Dawson (rhythm guitar). Their manager Mick Carroll used to put us on at the same venues as we did completely different styles of music. Have some great memories of those days.
